I was wondering if I could put a tiller behind my ford 1947 9N. Will I have enough horse power and if so will I have enough rpm to do the job.

You ARE aware that you have a 2N and not a 9N, arn't you? They called them 9N because they were first made in 193NINE. and changed the name to 2N in 194TWO and 8N in 194EIGHT!

Nope! I also have a 1947 9N. 9N is stamped on the engine block & 1947 mfg. date to the day is cast on the rear axle outer housing.

There were no 9N's made after 43, only the 2N but on the serial numbers they did not change the 9 to a 2

To be honest, the ground speed of the tractor is too great for a tiller to work properly.
