Hello,

My dad is looking for a replacement gearbox or long shaft for his Gehl 72b grass chopper. Does anyone know where he can find one for a decent price?

Any help will be appreciated, as he will call daily until I have an answer..... ..lol

I presume since you said decent price you've already been to the Gehl dealer. They should be able to get the parts. If your in the Northern Indiana/Michigan area I'd try Stamms in Wayland, MI. They have a scrap yard with some of almost everything and "might"?? have a unit for parts. good luck

Stamm's # is 616 792-6204 on 131 just south of Grand Rapids (try 269 area code if 616 doesn't work) I've never bought anything there but have inquired prices are a bit high. You may try Myer's on 19 south of Elkhart too. They carry more tractor stuff but worth a shot. 574-294-1008 they may still be in FL???
Gadson's in Middlebury (Gehl dealer) are pretty good folks (at least on tractors) 574-825-9802 they may have a junker around too?? What part of N. Indiana?? Good luck
