They are much cheaper than a disk mower, last longer, simpler, much easier to maintain & repair. So how come almost no one uses them. I've talked to farmers who've cut with them & seen where they have mowed. The pictures show a good job.

The drum mowers fit the large compact and small utility segment of the market. We have sold the PZ style drum mowers since 1982 and have sold thousands of them. Many of those 1982 mowers are running today. Check out the CCM Drum mowers. When you want a 7'-10' cut from a 3 point mower then you will need to move to the disc mower.

I think I understand. Is the CCm mower belts & u-joint or all u-joint?

PTO to belts to shaft drive across the top. The CCM has the same system as the PZ (PZAG) drum mower that was patented in 1969.

How does that system compare to the Galfre that uses only driveshafts? Is it worth the extra $1200? Up here the Galfre(sp?)(5 1/2 ft.) is $3000 & a turkish-made with belts (5 1/2 ft.) is $1850.
