I bought one at TSC that is made exactly like a KK brand, but has some other brand on it (TSC brand, I think). It is sturdy enough behind my 29 hp 4wd compact tractor. I could see where a bigger, heavier tractor could damage the mounting that goes up to the top link. But it is a very, very hand tool.
Good luck,
Bill

the generic one you bought is probly a KK too.

KK builds the TSC brand name 3 point equipment, or at least the ones they sell around me..

King Kutter box blades are an economy, entry level, base model implement. OK, as long as you don't intend to use it hard or often. I almost bought one, had it ordered through TSC for about 6 weeks (they told me 2-3 when I placed order). Got tired of waiting, along with further research led me to purchase a Bush Hog brand model. Much better built; thicker endplates, stronger beam to which scarifier teeth mount, stronger 3 Pt attachment, better welds. Very happy with mine, very glad I didn't purchase the King Kutter. Some of the large rocks and tree roots I tore into I'm sure would have bent the King Kutter. Also of note, Southern (Equip. Mfg) brand is of about the same design and quality as KK.

I'd advise you to buy the heaviest built piece you can afford. Moving earth can put alot of strain on these things. Besides, it'll last forever and you won't have to repair, straighten, replace it.

Good Luck with your purchase!

Have one for ~ 4 years ... worth the money for part time usage ... don't know how it would stand up to day to day usage ... only problem has been flat steel bars to upper 3 pt connection ... bad driver (me) hit hidden rock (rather big)w/ tips down .. slight bending resulted to bars.. cut, reinf & weld fixed and worked graet since

I have one. About 6 or 8 years old now. I don't use it a lot now but it was well worth what I paid for it. Really don't know what to campare it to but is fairly well made and plenty strong enough for the grading/landscaping I want to do with it. There is one thing that I would suggest checking when you first hitch it up. When I raise it up high and have the teeth lowered the teeth will hit my tires so I watch that. Can't really say that the ones built now are the same as mine but would assume that they are close. I'd buy another one if I needed it but for me it is a once in a lifetime deal.

I bought a 950 JD with loader and then bought a 5' box, KK from Farm and Fleet. As said in other posts, they are very light duty.
I use mine mostly for snow removal, but don't trust it much for heavier work. Spoiled myself with a 6' hydraulic that I sold with my IH 460.
If you plan on doing a lot of dirt work, I'd spend the extra $ for a better unit.
