I have a chance to buy a NI 323 picker for $750. I don't know what for shape it's in other than the guy said that he used it two years ago and it has always been kept inside. Is this a good price for a one row picker or is this to high? I watched a 2 row picker sell for $1800 3 weeks ago at an auction and thought that was high.

That is a good price for a decent 323 picker. A 2 row is a pain in the butt to drag around. Hook a wagon on it and it is like trying to drag big burtha around. You need an extra 200 feet on the field ends. Around Western Pa. the 323 in good shape will bring over $1000. Check the fingers and the bottom side of teh elevators, they rust out on the low end . I guess from water laying in there.

Sounds like you are in an area where they sell good. Locally you can buy any model NI for $600 or less, a one row is worthless scrap iron price, a wide row is $250 or less. Depends where you are located.

Saw a JD 3 row narrow in good shape sell for $2100 last month, most likely just for the 3 row head....

$750 for a one row is probably OK! Although if You are interested in the 2 Row... They are easier to come by + time is money! If You have the horsepower to pull a 2 row You will save on wear, & tear on the rest of the equipment! The extra $1,050 You may spend on the 2 row will be made up quickly by harvesting twice as fast meaning less Engine hours, more time between oil changes, less fuel costs, etc. etc.

depends where you are, but where I live, in New Jersey (and in eastern Pennsylvania), a nice, shed kept 323 will usually bring $1000+. $1800 would be a good deal on a 325 2-row narrow picker, they bring closer to $2500 here.
