I have a model 56 4 row corn planter and some extra plates with it. Some of the plates are original IH cast iron and the numbers are in the IH manual and one set is IH plastic and they are also listed in the manual. I also have two plates that are Lustran and have C-13 on them, and another set of Lustran with C697-24 on them. They fit the planter but the numbers are not in the IHC manual I have. Is there a cross reference somewhere that tells me what seeds they are for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dieselrider, I can't answer your question but I have a I-H 56 planter and several sets of plates that came with it. A couple of my friends up the road just grab the plates, take some seeds and start setting them in the slots until they are satisfied that they have the best fit and you know...they are pretty darn accurate...I only plant sweet corn with it. As is suggested the seed manufacturer may have information for you as well. Good luck with the plates...Mike in Exeter Ontario

As long as we are talking IHC planters, how does a 295 planter unit relate to the rest of the IHC planter family? Were these always stand-alone units, or were they part of some planter series, like a 56? Are any parts interchangeable?
