Anybody know of a source for 1" square hole flange mount bearings. Dont have to be heavy duty, economy grade would do fine.

Thanks,
David

David,
Looking at Agri-Supply's catalog (page 20 available online) you can get their cheapest quality 1" for $7.49 and you would need to get 2 flanges @ $2.99 each. My next question is, why use a bearing. A short 2 inch long piece of pipe that would slide over the 1" sq would take a long time to wear out if you greased it occasionally. There is little if any pressure on the joint while the hooks are rotating. Just a thought to cut several dollars out of the design....

Try "Shoup" for your bearings.

A couple of different things, actually. Need most of them for a grapple fork for small square bales, 15 bale size for a skid steer set up for a bale wagon. Most of the 12 flat, 15 edge I've seen are oriented wrong for me and $3800 and up is a lot of $$. If I can get the bearings for less than the $18 a piece I've found so far I can build one for under $1500.

Also still playing with my unroller, with steel prices I'm trying to use what I've got and I'm down to my last hundred feed of cold roll and just short pieces of pipe. I rebuilt the load rack on my bale wagon and it all my pipe. Still got a good stock of 1" square tubing (over 1000') so it is becoming my pivot of choice. Scrap pile is about gone too. All that's left 1 pc of square tubing, and a bunch of galvanized I beam and angle but I hate to have to work with it, with asthma I have to use a remote personal air supply and it is awkward.
