At the auction that is coming up this weekend with the square balers and the rakes there will also be a NH 114 Haybine. It was just added into the auction ad. What is it worth? What can I pull it with? I was thinking a Ford 3000 or a IH 484. What do you use? What are the pros and cons of them? Thanks in advance.

Plan on at least 60hp, dual hydraulics, and live pto. I've pulled a 1380 Deere with my 3020 Deere and it did pretty good. The 1380 is 14' and the 3020 being 65-70hp(depending on who ya ask).

Chris, a couple things. Most of these are 14' with a few being 12' and I don't think you have enough tractor to handle. Also remember this is a hydro-turn unit so your hydraulic aren't right you can't use it anyway. Another thing is most of these were sold up north where its very flat (and they now use bigger equipment) and if your land is hilly or rolling hills you may have a problem with this machine as you'll have to cut to high to do a good job. These machines usually sell for around 4-6000 dollars and if you don't get one in good condition you can spend half that getting it into usable condition plus if you have any hair now you will have pulled it all out by the time your ready to cut hay. Whatever you decide good luck..... .
