Rubber Pick-up Teeth

Just got my NH rake home and looks like I need to replace a hand full of the rubber pick up teeth. Question is, are the ones sold at the tractor supply stores worth putting on or should I make a stop at the NH dealer for them?

Hey Matthew,
I bought a used 56 rake several years ago that had rubber teeth in it. Thought it was a good deal at the time but didn't take long for them to most all break off. They were old so I don't blame brands on the problem. I have used some of the aftermarket type though and they didn'tlast very long. I went back to the steel coil type teeth on mine.

The aftermarket teeth have a straight shank up into the rubber and the Vermeer teeth have a J hook that goes into the rubber part. This is for the double pickup teeth. I would assume about the same goes for New Holland.

I agree with Steve. I have used both, and the aftermarket teeth dont last nearly as long. It seems like even when they are new, you hit something and they break right off. The new holland teeth, even when they are so old they look about to fall off, just keep going and going.

Matthew, at the risk of sounding bias, I must tell you that after market rake teeth are worthless. Please trust me, I'm not trying to knock after market parts. I sell and use them myself, but we ABSOLUTLY REFUSE to sell after market rake teeth. I know New Holland's price will seem rediculous, but trust me, they are worth it. Steve
