First Windrower?

Can anyone out there tell me if IHC made the first windrower. It perhaps had windmill type arms rotating from a central point. Would have been horse drawn and ground drive.
A picture would be an asset, and an instruction/parts book even better!!!.

There's a museum down in the Shannandoah valley with pictures and old machinery. As I recall, Cyrus McCormick invented a horsedrawn rake like you describe, nearly 160 yrs ago.

Cyrus McCormick made the first successful reaper/windrower. There were others before, but never successful. According to "The American Farm Tractor" by Randy Leffingwell, Cyrus's father Robert actually started the project 14 yrs. earlier before Cyrus took over in 1831. Following his fathers dream, Cyrus continued to improve the reaper until 1834 when he patented it. But he still was satisfied. Investments/money went sour at this time. He returned to work on it in 1841 and sold his first 7 successful machines in 1842.
