If it's a 3-cyl Perkins gas, it has 37 hp. (the 4-cyl continental earlier models had 34 hp). Hills & weight would be more of a concern than hp.

I pull a 7' JD 1207 MoCo that I imagine is very comparable to the NH with a Ford 2000 as fast as I want to sit in the seat in most conditions and in heavy hay I may have to slow down but that is more to accomodate the MoCo than the tractor. 2000 and the 135 are very comparable in size and HP. I think I could pull a 9' under most conditions just fine but the deal came up on a 7' before a 9'

I've run a 9' New HOlland 469 and a 488 with my 135 gas and never had any problems at all that I can recall. HP ratings for the 469 and 488 required a min of 35hp. If your going to run a 7' machine with it, I would say it would probably walk away with it.

Check your Hesston manual. It will give you the horse power requirements for this machine. Check your tractor specifications for the correct hp of your unit. Good luck..... ...
