OK guys what can anyone tell me about a Fella disk mower? I just bought one can't remember the model number off the top off my head, but it is about 12 yrs old and is 8' cut. Are there any certain things to watch for on them? Are they a good mower? Had my choice of 3 mowers this was the best of the bunch. Thanks Brian

First thing that I would do is remove all of the cutting discs and cut all the twine and wire out from the hubs. Hopefully you won't find anything but grass. Also check to see how much play you have in your gears. Hopefully you will turn one and they all start to move. There will be a little slack between them, but not a lot. You may want to change the oil and check for and metal that might settle out in it. All of this would be true for any mower.

Thanks James, well there is no wire, string, or grass around anything and very little slack in the gears. This mower seems to be in good shape still has quite a bit of original paint on the cutter bar which suprises me because none of the other (15-20) had any paint on them and were wore thin on the bottoms. I hopeing this mower hasn't been over that many acres.(I know it's wishful thinking but oh well!) Thanks Brian
