Root Rake

Has anyone use a root rake? I need to cut off some old (pvc)in the ground sprinklers that are left over from when the property was an orchard. It is a little hard to hunt down every one because some are buried a couple inches down. Idealy I need something that will dig about 12' down and snap off the spur sticking up. I was told a root rake has a horizontial bar that is about 2' wide and travels about 2' under the soil pulled by a cat - anyone seen or worked with one- Thanks

I have one for the front of my 977 cat track loader. It's about 12' wide, 6' high and has a big 'ol tooth about every foot. Pretty much works as advertised. Sinks about a foot into the ground and rips up everything you run over, rocks,stumps, whatever. Works best when the ground is dry, so the broken dirt passes through the teeth easier. Nice tool to have. There are two kinds, one you bolt to the bucket, the other replaces it. I have the second kind. The first places too much stress on the bucket, in my opinion. Gave about $600 for it, and had to modify it some to fit, but it's paid for itself many times over.
