Looking To Buy A 6' Bush Hog Mower, For Brush And Grass, And Have $700.00 To Spend. Please Give Me A Idea, Have Been Looking At Either A 6' King Kutter, Or A Alamo Brand.
John Deere Looks Ok, But It's Top Deck Is A Little Thin Compared To The Other Two.!!
Any Suggestions Would Be Great.

If you have $700 to put in a bush hog, get into the mad money and give the other $150 and get the JD. I priced one last week it was $850 in Liberty Texas. Don't even get tempted by Howse, Internatioal, or Modern. If you have work to do the JD will cut big brush and the imitation hogs wont. Rhino is the only one listed that I haven't tried so I don't know about it, but the others are ok to mow your lawn, but to work with go for the JD. I usually don't endorse JD because of their pissey sales people around here, but give the devil his dues. They have a good bushhog.

The guys who have posted answers all have good ones, but they miss an important point. If you're talking new, you ain't gonna get much mower for $700. Figure at least twice that, maybe three times if you're going for a heavy duty 6 footer.

Just an idea, but you MIGHT be better off finding a good used one of the types/brands mentioned below.

Smitty, I've looked at all the mowers available to me here, and the best would be the JD 609. It has the heaviest deck I've ever seen, weighs over 1100 pounds (6Ft. model). It's worth more than $700, but it would probably be the last mower you'll ever buy. Bill

In my opinion, BUSH HOG brand is the best. Some of the other brands may be a bit cheaper to purchase, but you get what you pay for. Consider parts availability and projected life of the implement in your decision. GOOD LUCK.
