Well guys because of short budget and an increase in the demand for square balers I bought a ford baler. Totally unfamiliar with these fords. Need advice as to weaknesses and best operated, as in pto speed etc. I've had IH 46 New Holland 280 and pulled 14, 24 and 336 deeres. Please help as my 16 year old son is going to be the only 1 in the feild with me and he really is going to need a break

make light bales 40 to 50 pounds or you can tear out the overrunning hub in the flywheel.

I guess its a 532. Has no model # that is clear enough to read. Does have 4 bar pickup. It has several gear cases with Germany cast in them.

The 532 is a good baler. It is the last baler Ford sold before buying NH and dropping the Ford line of Haying equipment in the early 70's. Ford used the same knotters as JD and NH. They are reliable balers if youget them set up correctly. Get a manual from eBay as the original manuals have better pictures than the reprints. Make sure that the feed forks are 180 degrees out of phase. There was an error in the manual that if you followed the illustration instead of the words they are in phase and that baler won't move near as much hay. Good luck and let us know how its going or if we can be of help.
