PTO drive shaft

Where might I find the "tractor end" piece of the pto drive shaft for a JD 224 baler. I have everything except the coupler that connects to the pto shaft on the tractor, the universal joint that is directly behind this coupler and the 1 1/4 inch square stock that is connected to the rear of the universal joint. If anyone has any ideas please E-mail me Thanks Steve

The JD dealer is the obvious choice, however...can be pricey. I took an old JD #5 mower and fitted it to a Farmall tractor only to find that the shaft was too short. Here we have a guy who takes the square stock and welds shafts to order. Does a really slick job and charges less than the parts dept. Ask around your local farmers, you may have a local guy who does this.
Our guy is in Williamston, MI if that helps.

If you are handy with a welder you can buy all of the parts to make your own shaft assembly. Seems to cost about the same as buying a cheap one though.

Most any farm supply store like TSC or something with the words 'Fleet' or 'Farm' in their name should have what you need. Even a NAPA or such, if you live in an ag area will have or can get it. Any ag dealer, doesn't have to be JD, will likely be able to match it up as well. And of course, any JD dealer.

Naturally the JD dealer.. most PTO's were made by someone else many by Weasler in Wisconsin... so many dealers can probably get what you need at less $ than JD... You don't see too many used ones in the junk yards as that end gets busted easy and or lost ect ect.
