While exporing the farm, I found a horse-drawn McCormick Mowing Machine with "NEW 4" cast into the axle housing below the seat. Used to have about a five or six foot blade, a hand lever with a 2" dia. spring to raise and lower it. Can any one help?

I don't mean to be a jerk, but maybe there would be more interest if you said what you wanted help with - hauling it out of the grove, identifying it (you seem to have that covered), restoring it, cutting it up for iron, getting replacement parts....

You have no idea how right you are - having a bad day with that - staying near the bathroom door today!

I also have both the McCormick and an IHC horse drawn mowing machine. Do you know what colors their castings and framework should be? Also a horse drawn dump rack. What colors wheels, frame, and tines??

McCormick mowers are international red with white
wheels. You can still get parts for no. 6 and 9

Do you know of any pictures of a restored or original mowing machine? I have a No. 7, myself, would like to restore it. Thanks.
