case auto reset plows

i have an opportunity to buy a 4 bottom case plow. its a semi mount and auto reset.the auto reset is with a nitrogen(i think) canister. the guage is on zero. so i was wondering if it is on zero till you hit something or is there a leak in this system? if there is a leak how can i find it without charging the system with notrogen, and losing it. also can you buy nitrogen to charge this thing with? im not sure of the model. i think its a 4-16 or 18. it had alot of snow on the bottoms when i looked at it. i want to pull it with a 706 farmall. thanks for any info.

Some CASE plows (later models) I believe were made by White. The white dealer may be a good parts source too.

I'm sure the gauge should not be one zero, and the fact that it is would indicate it's discharged.

Check with your local implement dealer to see if they are able to recharge it, and what it would cost. Shouldn't be too spendy. Some combines use accumulators with their header height control system, and if you find a dealer that works with those, they can probably recharge your plow accumulator.
