International Manure Spreader

I just bought an international manure spreader that is in great condition, except the drag chain has several broken links. My local TSC doesn't have any chain links to fit this spreader (nor for any at this time). I couldn't tell you the model number of my spreader, but the S/N is 33339SL.

Anyone know if parts are still available for these older models and whom might have them? Anyone know what model this could be?

By drag chain do you mean the apron? If those links are starting to break it's time for a new apron. You need to ID the chain by type and size, as well as measure the slat length. Could be one of several styles of chain- flat, pintle, Graetz, or other style link. Flat and pintle links are generic- usually have the size number stamped on them. If not visible, bring one to a dealer for ID. Flat chain is the weakest, others carry a much heavier load. If the slats are good they can be reused, but usually the entire apron gets replaced. Try Shoup Manufacturing Co. on the internet. Two catalogues. one on line, anothr they'll mail ya. Better'an TSC parts when you're in no hurry. Have had good luck with their products.

Ihave an IH pto driven spreader # 40 and it is a really fine machine.I was turned down when I asked the dealer for parts so I made my own gear.Dont know how you would make a chain.However I think IH probably did not mfg. the chain. Suggest you do a web search.More than likely some one still makes chain or links.Or ask a tractor bone yard dealer to do a hotline search.

1 888-828 3276 this place has complete chain as well as links. My guess you have a model 200. I would advise you to go with complete new chain. save you lot,s of time and frustration in the long haul.
