After 4 nights of -25 or lower, our mound septic system has frozen up solid. Spring can not get here soon enough for us here in nothern WI.

Keep warm all

Sounds like you need to put block heater on the unit. We run rural mailroute thru all kinds stuff, they have to start.

All the Rangers that they purchased up here are the Northland editions. Come with the block heaters and other cold climate goodies. Never had a problem with any of those. I switched out trucks 2 weeks ago as mine was shot. Last year they closed a office in Texas and shipped a bunch of those trucks up here. Guess what one I got?

I would not live down south in the summer though. I still have some very bad memories of Ft Jackson SC in July. You can keep that kind of heat.
Now If I could just het a gig that would have me up here Aril to Oct and in Texas the rest. I would jump at it.

Kelly,

It's not nearly as cold in my neck of the woods, but cold just the same. Infact, it was so cold last night, I heard a knock at the door about 3am and it was my thermometer wanting to come inside.....

Well its 11:50 am now and still trying to get that dang truck started. Its up to 10 below now so maybe warm enough for this Ford to get going.
I went out and tried my F150. I have that one in the wide open. It did not reply at all. Might be June before that one warms up.
Looks like I need to clear a spot in the garage for the work truck.

What year is your F150? Mine is an '88 w/ the 300-6, and she fires right up, albeit a little sluggish and she pounds like he11 till the oil makes it's way up there, but she starts just fine. Coldest I know of it being in my neck of the woods is around -15 or so, so it ain't the coldest but it's cold enough.

Mines a 91 w/5.0 v8 4 wheel drive.
Gona run her till she cant run no more. I dont put alot on my truck though. I purchased it with 108,000 on it and now its got 121,000. And I got it in 1998. Now my company truck thats a different story. Wore out 4 of them in ten years.
1st one I got was a Chevy Astro van with 151mi on it. I turned that one in with 176,000 on it. Then got another one with 1,021 mi and turned that one in at 110,000 mi. Last 2 have already had 40,000+ on them when I got them. Texas trucks yuk. No good for up here. Rangers are no good for any real work. Made for 500 pounds paylaod max and we drag around 1500 most times. They might get them cheaper up front but a few trannys evens that out fast.

Look at the cold is only a test of how well you rehab'd the 'H' last summer ... see if it starts. Father-in-law always seemed to get the old '51 running first in order to get the new ones going
