Your question on what it is worth, is one I don't have an exact answer for. I do know it would cost a lot to put a poor one in good shape today. The only problem we ever had other than wear parts was the bottom shaft on the pitman drive, bearings went. It is oil bath and not a large resovoir so a leak can spell trouble quite quickly. What I would do is look over all the wear parts on the cutter bar, knives, fingers, ledger plates, back wear plates and hold downs. Also look the shoes over quite well. Just go to a parts counter and price out those items, The value of the parts you don't need is what the mower is worth. You know what a completely worn out mower is worth for scrap. Just add the value of the parts you don't need to the scrap price. Therein lies the value. I expect you can buy it for less than that. Old tractors may not be a good buy but old inplements usually are.
