What would make my 66 consistently tie one side of the bales tighter, resulting in crooked bales? Thanks.

You might check the wedges on the sides of the bale chamber that hold the bale when the plunger isn't there - if one is gone, that side of the bale will pop forward, making the twine on that side loose. After the bale is tied, but while it is still compressed, is the twine slack on one side ?

Been a while but we had a 66 for many years. Comes to me that getting the bales square has something to do with the wad board penetration into the chamber, assmuming you have the tensioners evenly adjusted. I belive the wadboard is run with a roller chain and is adjusted in or out of the chamber by slipping the chain over the drive cog. Like I said, been a few years.

Several things come to mind....windrow to small..feed rate off spec...different spring tension in rear..plunger speed off spec.

I would try each of these in order..when I ran 66s they could be cured of this.

Let us know what you find out
