Trying to decide between two small 3 point disc harrows. Landpride 2560 and Monroe Tufline TLO91220. Landpride is a tandem, 5'cut, sixteen 20" notched discs at 7 1/2", weight 950 lbs, cost in central Kansas $1550. Monroe is an offset, 4'6" cut, twelve 20" notched discs at 9" spacing, weight 710 pounds, cost $1995. I want to pull it behind an old Massey 65 and disc up some wildlife food plots and plant milo in them. My soil is kind of sandy to light clay. The weight on each disc blade on either is right at 60 pounds. Can you guys help me with the pros and cons on this one? What would you buy?

Offset will serve you better for food plot use.

In all fairness to Monroe Tufline, $335 of that $1995 price is for shipping. The Landpride is made locally (central Kansas) and I would simply go pick it up at the factory. About 35 miles!

One more addition to my comments above.... the price I had ($1995) above was for 22" blades on that disc. It was only ($1900) for the 20 inchers. Still a lot more, though. (nearly 25% higher) As far as those two options, 20" VS 22" discs, what's everybody's opinion there? Would it really run any deeper? My experience is it is hard to get implements to penetrate the soil as deeply as I would like. But, running at the same depth you would gain a little trash clearance.
