is it possible to make a side discharge mower into a rear discharge? i think this would help out alot with it bogging the tractor down. thanks, chris

IF you don't weaken the structure by cutting too much out from the rear...and you will have to remove the curved shrouds that are around the blades.. Might be a good idea to weld a steel doubler at the back of the mower, if it looks like it may be weakened.. I have done this with 48" mower decks..worked great..discharges both at the back, and the side...!!!!

i was planning on bracing it up some anyway, i got the mower used and after one year its easy to tell its been modified not for my needs, so i need to modify to my needs and thought might as well try to change it to rear discharge, next question is it really worth? does the grass clump up more? thanks, chris
