got an old cat #12 motor grader at work
ser # 8t-5711

she's got a gas pony motor to get things turnin

i heard it said that cat quit puttin ponys on in the late 40's

anybody got any idea what year the old girl rolled off the line?

he said that she started life in '50

My Caterpillar handbook lists the 8t's as being built between 47 and 55, sorry I can't narrow it down any further.

My Dad had a 212 I don't know what year it had a pony, he also had a D 6 8U with a pony I do know it was a 1949. Used to park the 212 on a hill and roll it when I could, started it one morning stepped on the brake and a brake line broke that was a long ride.

Tris; You should go on the Cat web site, I think it is www.acmoc.org it could be .com. I would think the 8T would put it in the late fortys.
I have a 9T and it is a 1954.
