i've always been in love with the jd 8020 and the sound of a detroit. i realize it is a rare horse but are they findable? this would be my first go'round at restoration i'm not a big enthusiast...is this an affordable tractoror must i give my nextborn thanx for your input

They sell for almost $30,000 around here unrestored.

I've known of 2 of them to sell around here ( central Oh) in the last few years. I've seen 1 on line for sale I think all 3 were around 20.000 I know 2 people with them both of there's are SN no. 1 I've heard the first several had the same SN no.

They are rare, and probably not cheap. If you must have a green tractor with a screamin' mimi in it, you can always get an Oliver 1950 (not the 1950T, that had a Waukesha in it). More affordable, more common, and not that bad of a tractor, either.
