I have an acre of land i am inerested in cultivating;half corn and the other half for vegetables. I have a 28hp jd. what type of plow should i be looking to get,ie., a tiller, bottom plow or other. Please explain the different usages for the different plows.

Some of this depends on where you are located, what soil type you have, rainfall, what implements are common to your area.

For an acre, a tiller might work best for the veggies, and the corn can come along for the ride, altho tillers often make the ground too fine for real corn/soybean farming. But, your tractor would need a slow forward gear so some of this depends on exactly what tractor you have (3pt?, gearing, live pto?) as well, a new compact JD will do better with a tiller, while an old 2 lung JD will do better wh a plow & disk....
