New Holland 276 any good?

Hi I live in New Zealand and am wanting to buy a small baler, I have an opportunity to buy a New Holland 276 for $1500 it appears to be in good condition but as I dont no alot about balers I was wondering if these balers are any good or if there is another baler I should be looking for

Hi Andy, how warm is it in New Zealand? It is cold here in Pa. I'm ready for summer. The 276 was an excellent baler. They gave very few warrenty problems when new and have continued to perform very well. Of course, keep in mind, they are getting a little old. They were made between 1972 and 1976.

Yes Jim, the 275 was pretty good as well. It is smaller than the 276, but held up fairly well. As with ALL "flat track" balers, look over the feeder carriage. This is where they give trouble first. However, the 275 feeder carriage was built heavier than all other "flat track" models. "Flat track" models are as follows: 268,269,272,273,275,and 310. The 275 is the best of all of them. Steve

Hi thanks for that I am probably going to buy it. Yer its summer over here and its been very dry so some irrigaters are on water restrictions it has been upto 36 degrees celsius but normally bout 28. Thanks again and I know where to come to if I need any help with my new purchase. Cheers Andy
