Broke the handle off my John Deere #100 walking plow while digging up potatoes. Any suggestions as where I might buy some handles for this plow. Leo

Leo,

Orgil Brothers wholesale hardware distributor of Memphis still had them a few years ago and may still have them in their catalog. Have one of your local independent hardware stores check with Orgil Bros or look in their catalog.

Leo My Amish neighbor makes plow handles. But he is in the hospital at this time I don't know if he has any made that his son would know about. I don't know where you live but mabey there is an Amish community near you. Let me know if you can't find any. Mark

I was at the swap meet in Waukee, Iowa a couple of years ago and bought plow handles from a vendor there. They were reasonbly priced, about 17 bucks for the pair. I didn't get his name or address. Sorry.

I would give your JD dealer a try. You never know. My dealer has obtained some fairly old parts for me.

New ones are available each time at the April and October Colorado Draft Horse & Equipment Auctions. If you can wait 'til April can get some for you. Might be available through Cumberland Country Store catalog; not sure about Meader's supply. Can give you their phone numbers and/or address if you wish.
