If you fellows get that excited over an ad placed in the wrong section, ya'll might want to take some Midol because obviously it must be your time of the month. Yes, it is in the wrong section, but my goodness, some of you guys act like he has committed the unforgivable sin. Lighten up!

Hugh is right, it seems like an increasing number of posts on all the boards should be in the Classifieds. I get tired of clicking on what might be an interesting topic only to find out it's an ad.

I haven't looked at Rummy's board for a long time because it was more ads than swapping information.

I hope Kim is monitoring the action and can do something about it.

Stan

Who ever you are: That's right most guys have the intestinal fortitude to post their own name or regular handle, then there are those who will chose to hide under some disguise.

This very well oiled machine of communication called Yesterday's Tractors is provided to us with very limited rules. We are very much free to say what we like as long as we keep the language clean. One item Kim specifically asks, is not to use the forum discussion as a classified. Quite plain and ordinary english grammer, not very difficult to understand. This is not just Jim, the practice has been on the increase as of late. I believe we should adhere to the wishes of YT management. Remember they could decide to say this is just not worth the effort, then where would you be. I don't see a subsitute for YT as well run anywhere. When in Rome do as the Romans do.

And when you do put this in the classifieds, tell people where you are located.

Jim: That is exactly right, time to clean up your act, and get the blazes on the classified section.

IN CASE YOU CANT READ RULES SAY NO CLASSIFIEDS ON DISCUSSION PAGES.

Well Hugh and Tim, if you can tell me a better way to sell things and get people who are accually interested in BUYING things, not just kicking tires and trying to get things for peanuts, I'm all ears

I was only trying to suggest that giving your location when you list an ad might be something that would generate more interest. Since you're copping an attitude, I have to tell you that most of that stuff IS worth peanuts. If you think you're going to get rich on it, forget it. I know of several people who have so-called treasures that are sitting in the weeds, rotting and rusting away, because "I can't let it go that low." Then they have to pay to have it hauled off when the township says "clean up your mess!" So it appears you're not really cleaning up, because if you were, you'd take whatever to get your junk out of the way. I think you're looking for a sucker, and figure that the internet is the way to do it.

Tim-I'm not looking to get rich off this old stuff, just get rid of it. I'm just getting sick and tired of these guys who offer me $10.00 for a plow worth $200.00, and then have the balls to ask me to truck it for free. I wasn't copping an attitude with anyone of you, it's just a general poor attitute twards the people I mentioned earlier. Sure, the cheapest price is usually the best, but what if you had a tractor for sale for $1000.00, that was worth every penny of it, and all you got was people offering $500.00 for it? I had a running 1950 MM RTU for sale for $450.00, and all I got was a reply stating he would pay $350.00 plus he wanted me to truck it about 150 miles for FREE! You see, I'm just getting tired of some of the people trying to screw everybody else out of what something is worth, weather it is a plow, tractor, truck, or a dog-it's all the same. You see Tim, you know this just as well as I do, everything is only worth what someone else will pay for it. If your interested in something I have for sale, make me what you think is a reasonable offer, and we'll deal from there.

OK, now that I know what I know, you have a right to be PO'd. I guess I interpreted what you were saying wrong. I apologize for that. I've been on both ends of the buying and selling stick, but on the "seller is nuts" side way too many times. For example, one time I was looking at a $500 JD semi-mount plow that the seller thought was worth no less than $2000, then a few years later the owner had an auction because his farm was foreclosed on and that plow sold for $150. I've seen this happen a lot. I also run into "it can sit there and rot if I can't make a killing on it" attitude. Seems many of the people who try to sell machinery around here always think their stuff is worth several times appraised value. But I digress--back to my original point--what state are you in? I'd be hesitant to make any offers without knowing where this stuff is. I mean, I wouldn't want travel 500 miles for a $200 plow that I could buy here for $250.

Well Tim, I live in the southeastern corner of Wisconsin. If you look on the YT hauling forum, there are usually people going your way empty. You see, I'm not out to make money on my machinery, that's why I'm a mechanic, not a dealer. If I want to sell something, I have in the past "let it sit and rot" because of crappy offers, but I WILL NOT turn down any reasonable offers.

Jim: Right up at the top left corner of this page, management here at YT offers free Classifieds, Photo Classifirds and an Auction. I know that all the same people involved in discussions that are looking for items view these adds every day. Kim specifically asks that we do not use the discussion forum pages for classified adds. I think we should adhere to her wishes. I don't know where there is a better deal, take care of it. I for one will not respond to your so called add, even though you do have at least one item that does interest me a bit.

Stan: I also notice, and only 10 days into the new year, the bashers are lurking around. I enlightened a couple of guys, earlier this week that bashing green and red tractor models produced in excess of 250,000 units, only served to let the rest of us know they were IDIOTS. Afterall, if 250,000 new tractor buyers bought a particular model they couldn't have all been wrong.
