I have a chance to buy a 4 row 800 cyclo at a good price. It is supposed to be one of the last of this type made. I know some of you know a lot about these and I would like you to comment or give concerns or what to look for when I inspect it. I have only used a 400 cyclo and John deere planters but havn't used them in a number of years. Thanks in advance rct

rct; The 800 is not like the 400series. 400 drum was in back and did not have doubles disc openers. Ther is no comparision between these two units. The 800 and 900 were very similair minor changes, closeing disc were offset on 900 and little dif tread pattern on closing tire. I had both and now have a 900 series 12row horizontal fold unit for sale.(quit row crop farming) I loved them. I had deere and kinze planters, to this day I would still use this planter due to simplicity and accuracy if you set brush and air correctly. That planter will make a nice unit for you. I have a freind who has a 6 row unit if you would rather go that route. Let me know if need help with it. Rick

I had a Ih 900 planter, the 955 was the last of the era of cih. they have disc openers, good planter, hated the constant noise of the air system.

Rct,

The 800 is just like the 400 except, if I remember right, it is a trail type.

They wear the opener shoes just as the 400 does.

Damn good planter.
