I know that value is relative on old equipment but I plan to farm with the equipment I have. Is anyone out there qualified to give me an appraisal that is realistic to collectable values and also fair to the lender for resale values?

Brian, Where are you located? I am a certified appraiser specializing in old tractors and equipment. I enjoy doing this. You can also contact the American Society of Farm Equipment Appraisers for other names. I am located in the midwest but travel all over for appraisals. I also collect and restore old tractors and equipment for a hobby with mostly Green ones.

That sounds great I will say that I am 90% John Deere. I would be very thankful and very interested in the results. My banker suggested auctioneers but when you think of it auction prices can be emotional and the high sellers always stand out. Then a sharp JD man will pay as little as possible so they can make as much as they can on resale or for parts and auctions for complete lines cannot hit the seasonal highs of individually timed sales.

most apprails are based on a series of comparisons of similar objects lests say 3 jd b's sell for 15-16-1700$ the average would be 1600? of course condition and many other factors come in.
banks these days dont want to finance older equipment and some wont finance any equipment!
