Find out if you have a forklift shop in your area, they were still using these engines until a few years ago and can still get a lot of parts for them. I am not sure but The last time I did a head gasket on a Continental I think it was torqued to 65Ft.Lbs.But that is almost 8 years ago and my memory aint' what it used to be. T.J.

Is it a continental eng? We've got a McD 50T baler we use from time to time for making conveinece bales. It has the equivialent Farmal Cub engine from that era. Just wondering?

Yes the 50T used both the cub engine and the continenal. My Dad bought a 50T new in the 40's it had the continenal.

Don't know the torque, but the sequence on any long, flat head is usually the same. From the center out, alternating lengthwise and crosswise. First time is not to final torque level, second time is.
