I just acquired an old three point hitch, 2 bottom Ferguson Plow number 827 and Type 12B. My brother-in-law used this plow in 1947. I would like to know if anyone could tell me what years this plow was made and what color it was new as I want to restore it. If you know the color, do you also know the paint code? Thanks for any reply.

If the tag says Ferguson/Sherman it was made in 1939, if the tag says Ferguson type 12B AO 28 then it was made around 1944.

Well, all the ferguson implements were originally produced for Ford from 1939 to 1947 when the Ford/Ferguson split happened. Afterwards, Ferguson made his own tractor and kept his implement line, while Ford switched to the Dearborn line. All Ferguson implements were Ford/Ferguson gray and black. Like Stan said, same color as the Ferguson or 9N/2N tractors.

It's been a long time since I saw one, and my memory is fading fast (LOL), but as I remember they were the same color as the tractors.

If you haven't already done so, you might want to post on the H. Ferguson forum here in YTMag.

Good luck,

Stan
