I recently picked a Little Genius 12 in 2 bottom plow, rusted but everything is there, The seller stated that they were all IH red with the exception of the wheels which were dark blue. A
search of the web turned up a scan of the Ertl
reproduction which is all red, but with cream colored wheels, and blue moldboards(whole "plow"
area) and blue hitch section. Anyone know what the original colors were? Anyone know what years these were made? Thanks for any tips.

I just recently finished restoring a 3 bottom, 14 inch Little Genius plow. I used the Ertl Precision Classic as the color model. I grew up with a plow identical to the one I restored and I remember the color scheme as like the Ertl model. the plow I grew up with was purchased in 1952 and had the red, blue and cream colors.

That's a good plow!! Though we pulled it with an A John Deere.

The ERTL plow colors are right for the little genius plow.

I've been around three of them, and all were different. We moved to one farm when I was a kid where one was left behind that was on steel wheels. It was all red. My Dad bought one new around '48, I think that was all red. My uncle bought one later that was red, blue, and cream; I don't remember which part was which. So take your pick.
