Whenever I get calls from customers telling me about problems they're having, first thing I do is check the logs to find out the browser they're using. If it's NS, I suggest they give IE a try. Problems usually disappear. It's all about writing code that conforms to standards. And, no, I don't work for Microsoft!!

IE has just as many flaws, programmers just write around them - they could do the same for Netscape. I guess that would be my responce to your suggestion. ;)

As for viruses, yeah, that can be a problem. The solution that's worked for me is (a) antivirus software and (b) keeping up with the MS patches. I work in a university environment. We get plenty of antivirus practice since our net's loaded with students who are either uninformed about virus protection or else are outright malicious. All I can say is that (a) and (b) above have worked for me.

I believe I read a few weeks ago that esentially Netscape has thrown in the towel, and WILL NOT be coming out with any more brower versions. What you have is what you will have to use, or switch to another brand of browser. There are several.
