Guys,
Was wondering if there was an easy way to make the bucket work with hyd in stead of trip. Such as adding a cyl to bucket. How would I hook it up.

I added a cylinder to the bucket on my loader. It looks identical to yours, right down to the release mechanism for the bucket. It is a 40 in bucket. I added a plow cylinder to the middle - off a snowplow - just plumbed it into the valve. I got a valve off an old forklift. It is a 3 way, but I only use to 2 sections. I cut a piece of cardboard out to see where to weld the clevis on. I had steel lines made up for the cylinder back to the brace. I have seen a buch of ripped hoses. Good luck. TSC sells a 2 way valve for 150? Irv.

That looks like a Paulson loader on the tractor. I have one on a WD that I converted from trip to a double cylinder. If you contact me by email I can send you a picture of it. Not sure about how to post the pix here. I think the cylinders were 2 or 2 1/2 inch diameter, either 20 or 22 inch stroke. You definitely need two-way hydraulics to run a cylinder bucket, and a double cylinder is simpler to set up and a better conversion.

I put a cylinder dump on a #35 JD loader a few years back, had a trip bucket prior to that. I definitely takes some comtemplation. You need somewhere on the frame solid enough to act as a base for the cylinder mount. Your angle to the bucket has to be so that it is pushed foreward when the cylinder extended. You need a long enough cylinder to completely dump bucket but not one so long that it does not allow the cylinder to completely retract. If you look in a source like Northern tool it tells stroke, length etc of the cylinder. Also consider if you want 2 cylinders or just one in the middle. I put one in the center on my JD but will someday change to 2, one on each side. You need a cylinder with sufficient ram diameter that it does not bend when you put pressure on it. You usually need 2 way hydraulics to operate the bucket cylinder effectively. One more thing to consider, the cylinder or cylinders add extra weight to the loader, so harder to steer. I am glad I changed mine over but just offering some considertions.
