Anybody ever see one of these choppers run? Saw an old ad for one. Used a big auger mounted over a sicklebar to cut and feed in standing grass, alfalfa, etc. There was no reel. According to the ad, a pickup attachment for windrows was also available. Apparently this machine was not intended to do corn or other tall row crops for silage, as no mention of a row-crop head is made. As this area was once heavy with dairy operations, I have seen many old choppers of many makes over the years, but never a Ford 612.

we had one and it did the job and yes they did do corn. it had a two row head that was no more then snouts with no chains or any thing. it worked the best in real tall corn. we had some that was 10 ft. tall and we had a 270 leyland on it and used all the power it had. they worked just fine if you know how to set it up

also they did have a pickup for dry hay and and green hay or direct cut. it did it all
