Well I offered $1500 for all and he took it. He was looking to get $2000. Even got him to throw in a good hay rack with the wood deck just replaced 2yrs ago. It has a treated lumber deck. So here the condition of the stuff...

NH 268 baler (nice clean unit)

NH 469 haybine (Very clean, rollers good, Wobble box iffy, new rock guards and 3 cutting bars)

NH 258 9' rake (Very good and has rubber pick up teeth)

One good 18' hay rack

One good solid running gear lacks a wood deck.

Did I do O.K guy's? I need to get a baler manual and haybine manual. Maybe from NH? Thanks for all your help folks.

Matthew

You did real good. A 258 hay rake in good condition will fetch $1200 to $1500. Good job. Won't take many acres to get your money back. Good Luck.

Hoss,
Here in north central Texas, either the rake or the haybine alone would bring the 1500.00. Basically I would say you bought one and got the other stuff give to ya.

I'd say yo did ok. Likely value is $2500-5000 depending on the market and condition of the equipment.

Just a word of advice when you replace guards, sickle, or sickle parts, or rake teeth use Hew Holland parts they are high, but in the long run may be the cheeper than after market. If the sickles have self sharpening sections and the guard are good you should never have to pull the sickle. Use bolts in place of rivits if it has not been changed to bolts you will have to change hold down clips to the high clearence ones.

You did ok. Even $2000 wouldn't have been too bad. If you want to make a road trip you can make some money.

Any of that going back up? I could use another small flat rack.

Pulling that extra hay rack made it a great deal.
You can get the manuals for the 469 and the 268 from any New Holland dealer. I just got user manuals and Parts books for my 268 and 469.
