3pt land plow

I like to know why they off set the right side hitch on the 3 pt hook up.Is it something to do with keeping in the ground so it doesn't ride up.Thanks Bob

Do you mean why the right-side pin is lower than the left-side pin on the hitch? That compensates for the tractor wheel being in the furrow, keeps the plow level. Pull plows have an adjustble lever, many 3pt models have some adjustment available, or you use the crank on your tractor 3pt, to make minor adjustments or for the first pass through the field.

Or, do you mean the plow being offset to the left or right, not right down the middle of the tractor? That is to help line up the tractor so the front furrow will plow a full bottom width, no more or less. This is often adjustable. As well you adjust the rear (and front, if wide front) wheels to line it all up.

I meant the right side pin being lower.I didn't think about the tire being in the furrow.Thanks
