I've got a 3-14 Little Genius plow. Beleive its a #8? Its the trip rope style, on rubber. With it, I have what I believe are called "combination jointers". Unfortunatly, I only have two of the 3, but I have never seen these things in my life. What are they for? A buddy of mine says his manual tells him they are used to help bury residue. Seems to me that would catch and drag up more residue rather than bury it. I realize the plow is extremely old school, but its what grandpa owned for the 49 M and I plan on getting it in working order. I need to get a manual for this contraptoion. In the mean time, what can you fellas tell me about the old girl, such as set up tips ( i know it needs to be level, but the drawbar?) My plowing experience is limited to that of a Cub Cadet, and an IH 1566 pulling 6-18 semi mounted plows. It will be different not having automatic reset beams.
Also, what size tire fitson the tail wheel? Mine is FUBARed.

My friends over at redpower and I have been discussing this for a day or so now, but thought I would post here for your opinions.
Thanks, Jason

The jointer is a miniature plow which cuts a little strip and throws it into the bottom of the furrow where it is then covered. The jointer eliminates that little strip of green material which shows up between furrow slices. Results in very clean plowing. Works best in sod or grain stubble. Do not plan on plowing corn stocks with this plow.
In the clay soils of central Ontario, the Little Genius 8C with Ace bottoms was unsurpassed as a sod plow.

Jason, your best bet is to get a manual, it will tell you more than you ever thought you wanted to know. There is just too much to tell, never get it all in this forum.
If you want one more jointer, e-mail me, I have a 3 btm. that had only one on it.
Also, check e-bay, lots of manuals for little genius plows listed there.
