? live in Texas and was wantting to know what a heavy duty good squeeze chute would be to buy thanks for any info.

Mark, I hope I'm not too late posting this, but the best names in the squeeze chute business are Priefert and probably Powder River. I do not know where you live in Texas, but I'm a buyer for a building materials/farm and ranch store that stocks Priefert equipment. Most of our stores stock the squeeze chutes,roping chutes, corral panels, etc. Send me an email at the above email address, and I can tell you the closest location. The best thing you can do is to look at 2 or 3 leading brands, and then see which was is easier, safer for both you and the animal, and will last the longest. When I mean look at them, use them there in the parking lot, and see which one is the best.

Whatever you do, do not buy a chute because the price is cheap.
My father had a cheap chute, it cost him thousands in accidents to both the operator and to the cattle and in welding the thing back together..
Go with the best you can find, regardless of price. You will be WAY ahead in the long run.

Also live in Texas. Have noticed that Tractor Supply has 2 models of Powder River; one is deluxe and one is more an economy model, but looks good enough for average cattle handling.

Mark, watch local farm & ranch auctions and you can pick up a good one for less than half a new ones price. If you can go for the hydraulic..... ....

Both WW and Priefort make good ones. I've got a Universal Co-op brand. It's ok, does good on cows and big calves, fair on little calves. Main thing is it was $1300, new. If I'm spending my money I would get another U-C, if I am spending yours I'd get a WW.

kyhayman, For a manuel chute..... PowerRiver! For a hydraulic chute... Trojan! Will be more than a manuel. But you won't kill yourself while you are working cattle....especially on days when you work 2 or 3 semi loads of 400/500 wt cattle. A load a 4 to 5 wt cattle will have + - 110 head on it. The ease in which the hydraulic works, is head and shoulders over a manuel. Biggest benefit is, it is easy on YOU!
Go hydraulic..... and you will not go back to a manuel.

MUCH MORE expensive; but..... Powder River; don't even know how long I've had mine, but it was around $2500 at the time.....
