Located a NH 469 haybine (older than I am) that I'm really intrested in but just got a few questions. The owner says that the bushing that the cutter bar bolt go though wore out after only mowing 3 acres. Replaced with new bushing and bolt, same deal cut some more and wore again. What might cause this? I assume maybe some bearings are wore or need tighting on the wobble arm. How do I check for bad or worn bearings on the wobble arm? Is there a quick way to check if the wobble box is good or wore too? Just want to know what I'm looking at replacement parts and price's be for I make him a cheep offer. Have not seen the haybine yet to check these things out.

Matthew

Check to see how free the section bar is in the guards. If the bar is bent or the guards the bar will be a bugger to move, and put extra load on the drive. Check wobble drive for play, should not be any. The bolt and bushing can be so hot you cant hold on, so watch for heat.

Check the crusher bearings to see if they spun on the shaft, we had to turn ours down and shrink sleeves on.

After searching the archives I'm confuse about the wobble box and the wobble drive. Are these two different parts but linked together some how? Or is the wobble drive a seperate unit from the wobble box?

Thanks
Matthew
