I always paid for cattle trucking but its time to buy a used 16/14 ft cattle trailer. What should I look for and what brand is rcommended?

mm, I stand with Ducknose Bob I have been around a lot of cattle trailers. Only 2 brands Are worthy of consideraition..... . Gooseneck Brand @ Bryan, TX They were First! Still do it best.
The other' a small welding shop that started building trailers for working cowboys in TX,OK panhandle & western NM. They later started a small company and took the best ideas of factory trailers combined with the proven, compoents of pasture trailers, ie: oilfield pipe not tubeing. Not light trailers but HD trailers that will stand up to being pulled every day in Bunch/tuffted grass pastures and not come apart at the seams.

also check for axle warpage. most of these trailers have the 3500 lb axles and they have a history of "if it fits load it"

I pull a Diamond D and like it fine. I still hire my calves hauled to market though.

I would check the sheet metal near the floor to see if it's rusted through and check condition of floor. Check for working brakes and lighting. Check the condition of tires and the trailer's springs and frame. Check all gates and doors for correct operation. Check condition of Paint.
