I recently got a rusty planter with a burch plow works tag.It has two hoppers feeding into one row.The seed plates are different;one being for a very large seed. Are plates available for this? do other brand plates fit? Why did it have the two hopper seed system?

The front hopper is for the seed, the rear hopper is for fertilizer. I have a Burch one-row planter (which came with the farm I bought) that has three plates - one is marked "P4", one is marked "34", the other has no mark. My question is: What plates are used with corn, peas, lima beans, etc.
