My neighbor is getting older and is selling out; land, house and equiptment. He has a disc and spreader that he mentioned selling to me if I'm intersted, or to a wholesaler or consignment buyer if I'm not. Both the disc and spreader are around 40 years old. I've used the disc behind my Ford 3000 and like it because it is heavy. I don't know about the spreader. He got both pieces with the tractor years ago so doesn't know the value then or now. I don't expect to get something for nothing and would like to offer a price that is fair to both of us. Any ideas on the subject would be appreciated. I don't know the manufacturer or either or much else, but do think the implements are in fair condition given their age. They have both been barn stored out of the weather. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of the current value for both implements, or for the disc alone?

Disc, assuming it is not hyd. lift, but tandem I'd say in the range of $150-$250. If only a single disc, $100.
Spreader, if pto operated and in nice shape, $500-$750. If ground driven and in nice shape, $200-$400. Thats what I'd expect the prices to be near in my opinion.

Thanks. It is a tandem disc, but heavy, no need for extra weight on top. The spreader is PTO driven - old, but works. I'm surprised to find the spreader is worth more than the disc - I would have thought the opposite. Pretty easy to guess that I've never priced these before. I appreciate your opinion.

With all the people who want horses, plus the small-scale llama, sheep and goat raisers that are around now, good used spreaders are in demand. Especially since a new 80 bushel PTO spreader is around $3000.
