any one using a Brush cutter w/ fast hitch.

I have one of those 3pt to fast hitch conversion units. Was thinking of getting a 3 pt brush cutter.
ANy one using this set up? The only thing I see as a issue is that the top link does not pivot on these units. Dont know if thats a problem or not.

Been using a 400 with a 3pt adapter on the fasthitch and 6ft brush cutter and other implements for years with no problems.

A chain for the top link is a very good idea so that mower is not damaged when back wheels of tractor hit low spot &/or front wheels a high spot. Also remove any pins possible in your Fast Hitch so that your hitch has a little lateral swing. Those fast hitches can be locked stiff & that puts a lot of strain on your mower when & if you turn short.

That always brings up the issue of the hog flipping over, if there is no solid link on the 3pt. I guess it would be rare, but might as well mention it. If you are really moving through the field & hit a short stump or something, it would be slightly possible for the mower to rotate up & damage the pto shaft or flip onto the driver.

It is better to put the chain free play between the mower top link & the mower frame. Maybe. Likely not a big deal.

Doesn't work well to have it 100% solid either, anyhow. :)

I have a Worksaver 3pt conversion kit on a Farmall 200. It does have a top link. Works fine with a 3pt generic brush cutter. Perhaps better than a standard 3pt hitch, which would allow the mower to swing unless restrained by additional links. I limit the cylinder's down-stroke to keep the front of the deck at the proper height, and allow the hitch to "float" by removing the pin, so the mower can rise if I hit an uneven spot.

Kelly, GT here on YT, and I were visiting about his just yesterday on the phone. He has pics , his attachment has a drawbar porition we are disucssing about cutting it out in the middle so it won't interfer with the driveshaft his is 400 LP. From his pics it is a neat little setup. Hollar at him. Or Email me and I can get that info to you.

I used a 7' brush hog behind my 450 w/ 3pt adapters, just hooked to the bottom 2 pins and no top link. Just let the trail wheel down for transport. Worked fine.

I have been using 3 point bush hog on my 656 for a few years. works just fine i use a chain as opposed to a top link on any tractor with brush cutter. flexs with dips and hills better.

I had 3pt adapters on my 706 and had no problems with the brush cutter mounted that way.
