I just bought an Oliver 252 Disc today. it needs just a little work (tightening some pins and a few scrapers and such) What can anyone tell me about this disk? Do they cut good? Anything common problems with them? ect.

Thanks!

I had one just sold it this fall, its a great disk. You have to replace the bearings once in a while and make sure the nuts on the axle have the metal up or they will work their way off. It will cut great if you don't have 4 wheel drive it likes about a 60 plus hp tractor. I had a MF-180 pulled it good...

ps sold mine as I sold the MF-180 got a old one without xport wheels now to pull behind the old Farmall H

thanks forthe info! we have a JD 6300 and a 6210 so it should be matched to the tractors about right. It was kinda worn when we got it other tha nthe bearings and blades but some welding and tightening is getting it fixed right up . I think someone got the tongue in a bind as it needed a little work and some of the bolts need tightening on the disk frames. I found a guy on here who has a manual for it and will be getting it soon and that will help.
