501 ledger plates

Would like to replace all the ledger plates and knife sections. Called NH dealer and he said that I would have to replace the ledger plate with a whole new guard. My rock guards are fine don't need the add expense if I can just get the ledger plates somewhere. Any one know of a source out there.

Maybe you have an older dealer near you, they are available from NH, they made 2 styles, 1 the short grooved rivet did not go the whole way through the guard and the other one that used long rivets did.

Do the ledger plates have a rivet or are they a "knock out" type? If the plate is separate from the guard I would think they would be replaceable but if not through NH perhaps you can match them with another make or a general type. If You do have to replace guards I would check to see if you could put ones on that do have replaceable ledger plates.
