I hit a chunk of concrete with my 7' AC bush hog and broke one gear and stripped the other. After contacting my AGCO dealer I have found that the parts are not available.Any one have a suggestion on a repair?

My friend has an AC bush hog with two gearboxes it's about 10' wide one gearbox has both gears ruined. I disassembled it for him to rebuild it, He hasn't tried to get parts yet but if their not available he might sell the other gearbox if it will work for you.

never seen an AC bushhog.. go online and search for used farm equipment parts and start calling around for a used gearbox... good luck...your best bet may be to look at as many bushhogs as you can from different manuf. for a match as the AC (and others) may have been built by someone else and thus there may be another parts source thru them .. maybe its an AC built unit w/off-the-shelf gearbox? ..just because AGCO can't (won't) get it doesn't mean someone else can't. another source would be, if you're lucky the AC unit has "off the shelf" gears.. ie something that you can find from a gear supply place (search online.. maybe try Thomas register) finally would be to cobble together a gear box from another brand bushhog onto the AC frame.. could cost you as much $ to get everything to work right as it would to buy a good used unit...??? Grandfather in-law pitched a IH because the input shaft parts cost more $ than the used "Brushhog" he bought..
